Hola a todos!
Queremos agradecer a través de la página de Teeter a todos los
buenos amigos que respondieron a nuestras preguntas y que nos ayudaron a
ver mejor las cosas cuando nació Oscar. Oscar nació el 15 de Abril del
2000.
Cuando Oscar nació los médicos no nos dieron el diagnóstico
correcto. Visitamos a un excelente pediatra siete días después (él se
llama Dr. Guillermo Franco) y él nos dijo que Oscar nació con Sindrome
de Apert . En ese momento el abuelo materno de Oscar (Rafael Barajas)
empezó su búsqueda en la red y envió diversos e-mail a varias
familias de la página de Teeter. Todas las palabras de estos amorosos e
inteligentes padres nos han ayudado a entender mejor la situación y ver
las cosas en su justa dimensión. También mantenemos comunación con la
asociación de síndrome de Apert en España y allí hemos encontrado
valiosos consejos. Oscar y familia vivimos en la ciudad de Querétaro,
Qro. que se encuentra a 3 horas de la ciudad de México. Oscar es
atendido en el Hospital de Pediatría del Centro Médico Nacional Siglo
XXI en la ciudad de México. El pasado 4 de septiembre Oscar tuvo su
primer cirugía de cráneo ( avance fronto-orbitario y remodelación
craneal) y gracias a Dios todo ha salido muy bien. Hemos tenido diversas
consultas con especialistas en cirugía reconstructiva, maxilofacial,
medicina física de rehabilitación, genetistas y neurocirugía. La
siguiente intervención será cuando Oscar tenga un año de edad y será
la reparación de su paladar hendido , también en ese mismo momento le
separarán su dedo pulgar de la mano izquierda ( el derecho lo tiene
liberado). La sindactilia de Oscar es del tipo más severo y estamos muy
interesados en que sus manos sean evaluadas por varios especialistas
pues queremos que Oscar reciba la mejor atención posible. Actualmente
Oscar asiste semanalmente a terapía física (Vojta) para fortalecer sus
músculos y mejorar su desarrollo neuro-motor. Nuevamente queremos

Hello to all! We want to thank for through Teeter's Page all the good
friends who responded to our questions and that helped to see better the
things us when Oscar was born. Oscar was born the 15 of April 2000. When
Oscar was born the doctors did not give the correct diagnosis to us. We
visited excellent an pediatrician seven days later (Dr. Frank Guillermo)
and he said to us that Oscar was born with Apert Syndrome. Then the
maternal grandfather of Oscar (Rafael Barajas) began his search in the
Internet and sent email to several families of Teeter's Page. All the
words of these loving and intelligent parents have helped us to
understand better the situation and to see the things in their right
dimension. Also we maintain communication with the association of
syndrome of Apert in Spain and there we have found valuable advice.
Oscar and family we lived in the city of Querétaro, Qro. which is 3
hours from Mexico City. Oscar is taken care of in the Hospital of
Pediatría of the Medical Center National Century XXI in Mexico City.
The past September 4 Oscar had his first surgery of skull (fronto-orbitario
advance and cranial remodeling) and thanks to God everything has left
very well. We have had diverse consultations with specialists in
reconstruction, maxillofacial surgery, physical medicine of
rehabilitation, geneticists and neurosurgery. The next intervention will
be when Oscar is one year old and will be the repair of his cleft
palate, also at that same time they will separate his thumb of the left
hand (the right has it released). Oscar's syndactily is of the most
severe type and we are very interested that his hands are evaluated by
several specialists then we want that Oscar receives the best possible
attention. At the moment Oscar attends physical therapy weekly (Vojta)
to fortify his muscles and to improve his neuro-motor development.
Again we want to be thankful to the parents of Teeter by this.
